The Seoul International Fireworks Festival is one of the city’s biggest annual events, drawing crowds of nearly a million to the banks of the Han River. Organized by Hanwha Corp., this year’s festival will take place on October 5, 2024, at Yeouido Hangang Park. Teams of pyrotechnic experts from Korea, the United States, and Japan will collaborate to put on a breathtaking display of fireworks. The main event happens right here, at the heart of Yeouido Hangang Park. Naturally, it’s where everyone will gather, so if you want a prime spot, plan to arrive early—really early. This spot gets packed, but being at the center of the action is well worth it.
Given the large crowd expected, the event hosts advise visitors to wear a mask for added safety.
For a slightly quieter vibe with a great view, head to Ichon Hangang Park. Situated across the river from Yeouido, this spot offers a different angle of the fireworks and attracts a smaller crowd, making it a good choice if you’re looking for a bit more space.
The Mapo Bridge crosses the Han River and connects the Mapo District and the Yeongdeungpo District, and it offers a fantastic elevated view of the fireworks. Easily accessible from Mapo Station or Yeouinaru Station on Subway Line 5.
For another elevated option, check out Hangang Bridge, which connects the Yongsan District and the Dongjak District. It’s accessible from Yongsan Station, Sinyongsan Station, or Nodeul Station.

Many people start arriving at Yeouido Hangang Park as early as the morning to claim a good spot. If you plan to do the same, come prepared—bring a picnic mat, snacks, and drinks to make the wait more enjoyable. The fireworks will take place from 7:20 PM to 8:30 PM, but the event officially runs from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, so there’s plenty of time to settle in and enjoy the atmosphere.
