The Seoul City Wall, also known as Hanyangdoseong, is a series of fortifications that once encircled the city of Seoul, South Korea. Built during the Joseon Dynasty, the wall served as a defensive structure to protect the capital and its inhabitants from invasions and attacks. It stretches approximately 18.6 kilometers (11.5 miles) around the perimeter of Seoul's central area, encompassing four main peaks: Baegak, Inwang, Naksan, and Namsan. The wall features gates, watchtowers, and other military facilities, reflecting its historical significance and architectural heritage. Today, parts of the Seoul City Wall remain preserved as cultural relics and popular hiking trails, offering panoramic views of the cityscape and historical landmarks.
