But if you want to experience Seoul like a local, there are plenty of spots that are lesser-known to tourists where you can fully enjoy the beauty of fall foliage. Let’s explore some of these spots where locals head to fully embrace the beauty of the season.

Location: Gyeongbokgung Station
For a more traditional experience, visit Seochon Hanok Village, nestled near Gyeongbokgung Palace. Wander through its charming streets and discover small shops, cozy cafes, and the stunning Samcheongdong Street—also known as Autumn Leaves Street (가을단풍길)—lined with the golden hues of Ginkgo Trees. Just watch out for the small yellow fruits from the trees; they can emit a strange smell if you step on them!
Location: Seoul Forest Station
A peaceful retreat in the middle of the city, Seoul Forest is a wonderful park for a leisurely stroll or a fall picnic. The area around the park is also great for exploring trendy Korean clothing shops and grabbing a bite to eat. It’s an ideal spot for enjoying the crisp autumn air while admiring the colorful trees and greenery.
Location: Yangjae Citizen’s Forest Station
Flowing through Seocho-gu, the Yangjaecheon Stream offers a tranquil spot to experience autumn in Seoul. This 18.5 km-long stream is lined with trees that change beautifully with the season. It's perfect for a relaxing walk, and along the way, you’ll get a view of the Lotte World Tower. In the spring, this spot transforms with cherry blossoms, but in the fall, it’s all about the vibrant foliage.

Also known as Yeontral Park, the Gyeongui Line Forest Park is a 6.3 km linear park that stretches through the heart of Mapo-gu. It's a local favorite for leisurely walks, especially among dog owners. This peaceful park offers a perfect escape from the busy city and is a great place to unwind and enjoy the autumn leaves.
Location: Olympic Park Station
Built for the 1988 Summer Olympics, Olympic Park is massive, covering over 1.45 million square meters. With its vast fields, winding paths, and plenty of trees, it’s a perfect place to spend a fall afternoon. You can easily spend three hours exploring the park, so bring a picnic and a book to enjoy the scenic surroundings.
Location: Eungbongsan Station
For those looking for a short hike, Eungbongsan is the perfect spot. It’s a small mountain located by the Han River in Seongdong District. The hike takes only about 30 minutes, and at the top, you’ll find a traditional eight-sided pagoda with panoramic views of Seoul. After your hike, you can continue exploring by taking a stroll along the Han River.
Location: Hyehwa Station
Also known as The Seoul City Wall, Hanyangdoseong was built in the 1300s to protect the capital during the Joseon Dynasty. The Naksan Section is one of the easiest hikes while enjoying Seoul’s fall foliage. As you walk along the ancient wall, you’ll be treated to sweeping views of the city, making it a perfect combination of history and nature.

It’s one of the best spots to marvel at Seoul’s sprawling cityscape, including landmarks like the Jamsil Lotte World Tower and N Seoul Tower.
